Sereno Oak

Sereno Oak is the easy yes. It gives tired furniture, cabinet doors, and wardrobes a calm oak mood without making the room feel heavy.

Start with a sample and move it around the room. Morning light, night light, and floor colour all change the finish more than a product photo can.

Best first project: a small cabinet run, a wardrobe panel, or one flat pack piece that needs to feel more intentional.

Good to know

Questions, answered

How much do I need?

Velven wraps come in two widths, 60 cm and 120 cm. Choosing the width closest to your surface reduces joins, keeps the grain flowing, and makes the job smoother.

Allow a margin of around 3 to 5 cm on each side for trimming and clean, confident edges. For larger projects, a little more overhang helps.

How will it look in my space?

Every space carries its own light, rhythm, and character. We capture each wrap colour as truly as we can, but every screen shows it a little differently.

For the most honest sense of a finish, order an A4 sample and place it where it will live. Notice how it shifts through the day, from the quiet light of morning to the softness of evening. It is the simplest way to see how the surface will sit in your room.

Where can I use this?

Velven sticks to most smooth, sealed surfaces. Cabinetry, furniture, doors, benchtops, splashbacks, shelves, and panels all work. Kitchens, a quiet corner, an open living space, it gives a tired surface depth and texture again.

Change the one surface you look at every day, and the whole room feels different. That is the idea.

How easy is it to install?

Velven was made with DIYers in mind. The backing lets you lift and reposition as you go, so you can refine each step without worry.

Every wrap strikes a balance, soft enough to bend around curves and edges, yet strong enough to resist tearing or warping. No special skills needed, just a steady hand and a little patience.

Can I remove it later?

Yes. Velven lifts cleanly from most sound, sealed surfaces. Warm it gently with a hairdryer and peel slowly at a low angle. If the surface underneath is delicate or the paint is old, test a small hidden area first, since weak paint can lift with any adhesive.

Renters, see the renter friendly guide for the bond safe way to do it.

Is it sustainable?

Most kitchen joinery in Australia is made from MDF or particle board, materials engineered from wood fibres bonded with resins. They are strong and versatile, but hard to recycle.

At the end of their life most are sent to landfill, because the resin stops the fibres being separated and reused, and local recycling options are limited.

By resurfacing what you already have instead of replacing it, Velven helps extend the life of these materials and keeps usable joinery out of landfill.

What tools do I need?

You can start with tools you already have at home, like scissors, a sharp knife, and a hairdryer. For the best result, use a sharp snap off blade, a squeegee or felt edged applicator, a steel ruler, and a hairdryer or heat gun on low to soften the edges as you work.

How do I clean it?

Wipe with a soft cloth or sponge using mild soap and water. Avoid harsh abrasives and solvents so the finish keeps looking its best.
