Ceiling wrap

A completely new finish for your ceiling

Velven is a premium self adhesive architectural wrap designed to bring woodgrain, stone and softly coloured finishes to interior ceilings, without replacing the surface already there. Browse the range or order an A4 sample for $7.95 with free shipping.

Where it works

Ceiling wrap for whole rooms and smaller spaces

Velven can be used across a complete interior ceiling or over a smaller area such as a kitchen bulkhead, hallway or bedroom alcove. Use one finish overhead or carry a finish from a wall onto the ceiling to connect the surfaces.

Whole ceilings

Use one finish across a flat ceiling to change the character of the entire room. Woodgrains create a timber ceiling look, while stone and softly coloured finishes bring a different material or colour overhead.

Bulkheads and alcoves

Kitchen bulkheads, hallway ceilings, bedroom alcoves and other smaller areas are practical places to introduce a finish without wrapping the entire ceiling.

From wall to ceiling

Continue the same finish from a wall onto the ceiling to connect the two surfaces or define a particular area within the room.

The method

How to apply ceiling wrap with control

Plan the panel direction and your working position before removing the backing. Apply one manageable section at a time, then use firm, even pressure once the film is aligned.

Work with two people

One person supports the loose length of material while the other manages the backing, alignment and squeegee. Keeping the panel supported makes long ceiling runs easier to position and prevents the unapplied section from getting in the way.

Use a stable working platform

Set up stable access that lets you work along the ceiling without overreaching. Once the film is aligned, squeegee from the centre toward the edges using firm, overlapping strokes to move trapped air outward.

Set the panel direction first

Measure the ceiling and map the direction of each panel before cutting. Consider the room dimensions, natural light and grain direction, then dry position the first length and use it as the reference for the panels that follow.

Ceiling tutorials

An exact ceiling method is in review

We have not found an independent ceiling video that matches Velven closely enough to recommend yet. The category is ready and will be filled only when the method is safe and genuinely useful.

Ceilings

Ceiling wrapping tutorial

We are reviewing an exact overhead method before recommending a video for this surface.

Ceilings need a sound surface, stable access and two people supporting the material.

The finishes

Woodgrain, stone and soft plain ceiling finishes

Choose a woodgrain for a timber ceiling look, a stone finish for a more architectural surface, or a soft plain finish to bring colour overhead. Compare the available patterns below, then order samples to see the colour and texture in your own room.
