What you can wrap

Every front you see and touch.

Keep the cabinets you already own and give every visible surface the same new finish.

  1. Cabinet doors

The biggest change for the least work.

Take each door off, wrap it flat on a table and keep the grain running the same way along the whole run.

  2. Drawer fronts

    Small fronts, quick wins.

Remove the handles, wrap the face and fold the film around the edges to finish on the back.

  3. Island and end panels

Carry the finish around the room.

Wrap the island sides and end panels too, so the new doors sit against a matching colour.

  4. Pantry doors

    Tall doors in one piece.

Measure the full height and cut it in one run, so the grain carries from top to bottom.

  5. Laminate and melamine

    The fronts it suits best.

Smooth laminate, melamine and sealed painted doors give the cleanest result. Wipe each one with isopropyl alcohol before you start.

  6. Open shelving

    Shelf faces and uprights.

Wrap shelf edges and uprights in the same finish, so open storage matches the doors around it.

How it goes on

Designed for DIY.

One door takes an evening. A whole kitchen is a weekend project.

  1. 01

Measure and cut on the grid.

The backing is printed with a 10cm and 1cm grid. Measure the door, add about 3cm on every side for the edges, and cut straight on the backing.

  2. 02

    Peel and squeegee.

Peel back a hand width, set the edge, then work the squeegee from the centre out. The air release channels let you lift and reposition as you go.

  3. 03

    Wrap the edges.

Warm the film gently with a hair dryer, fold it around each edge and trim on the back. The bond builds over 24 to 48 hours.

A small kitchen with ten doors, four drawers and two panels uses about 12 metres of 60cm roll and 3 metres of 90cm roll. The wrap calculator guide helps you plan yours.

Straight answers

Before you wrap your kitchen.

The questions kitchen customers ask us most.

Can I wrap my kitchen cabinets with Velven?

Yes. Cabinet doors, drawer fronts, island sides and end panels are the most popular projects. Smooth laminate, melamine and sealed painted fronts give the cleanest result.

Will it hold up in a kitchen?

Velven is much thicker than standard contact paper and more durable, with a water and stain resistant surface that wipes clean with a damp cloth.

How much do I need?

Measure every door and panel, add about 3cm on each side for the edges, and add the lengths up for your roll width. A small kitchen with ten doors, four drawers and two panels uses about 12 metres of 60cm roll and 3 metres of 90cm roll.

Why start with a sample?

Colour and grain look different in every kitchen, so seeing a finish against your own benchtop and floor is the surest way to choose. An A4 sample is $7.95 with free shipping, and your sample spend comes back as up to $30 off a later roll order of $49.95 or more.
